Allison Thomas Yoga and Massage Therapy

Therapeutic Massage, Manual Lymph Drainage, and Yoga Instruction

About The Practitioner

Allison Thomas began her massage career in 1997 when she graduated from the Cayce Reilly School of Massotherapy. Her specialties include Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD), pregnancy, geriatric, and therapeutic massage. She is Vodder certified in MLD, with continuing education in neuromuscular therapy, pregnancy massage, and craniosacral therapy. She also has a B.A. in psychology from George Mason University and a provisional teacher license to teach Health and PE in Virginia.

Allison began practicing yoga in 2005 and discovered the freedom that it could bring to her body. She completed 500 hours of yoga teacher training with Anna Pittman in Blacksburg, Virginia, where she enriched her understanding of the body through movement. She is now a registered yoga teacher (RYT500) and Certified Massage Therapist (CMT). Allison’s goal in every massage and yoga class is to make an understanding of the body accessible and to share with clients the benefits that yoga and massage can bring. Her focus on alignment enables her to help relieve pain and stress, while promoting a safe and efficient practice.

Her ultimate goal is to soothe the body and calm the mind. Through yoga and massage, she hopes to provide for students and clients alike a path to ease, contentment, acceptance, and freedom.

Allison has recently graduated with a Master's degree in Mental Health and Rehabilitation Counseling at VCU.  She is now a resident in counseling where she hopes to further develop her skills to incorporate the body, mind and spirit.   Allison lives in Midlothian, VA with her two teenage daughters.  She loves to do anything outside, especially ride her bike, hike and swim.  All of these things are made better with family and friends by her side.
